Safe, loving care, engaged in activity and community
Seton Center's Adult Day Services programs at the Brookline Center and in Greensburg provide a safe, secure home-away-from-home to frail adults who cannot be left home alone. Many have Alzheimer’s and other dementias, Parkinson’s, stroke and other neurological issues, arthritis, and other chronic illnesses. Seton Center serves approximately 50 adults in the Brookline and Greensburg Adult Day Services programs. Some come every day, some a few days a week. Our adults experience care from the staff tailored to their individual needs. Services include breakfast, lunch, a snack, and monitoring of medications. The seniors are engaged throughout the day in socialization and activities according to their abilities. The Center is always active with exercise, crafts, games, entertainment, and memory and motor enhancement activities. Our clients spend time with peers and make or continue friendships there. They participate in activities customized to their needs and wishes, including educational and socialization opportunities. Their medical needs are monitored, and a nurse capable of administering medications is on site. Physical, occupational, and speech therapists also visit regularly.
Unique Intergenerational Care Program
A unique feature at our Brookline Center is our Intergenerational Programming. Each week, children share in common activities with the seniors. The interaction brings joy and smiles to the faces of the seniors as well as a sense of renewed purpose. Children experience the love of new “grandparents.” Both get the opportunity to help the other and work toward common goals.
Relaxed and Reliable Care
Our Adult Day Service programs offer a personalized, engaging setting to families looking for support in caregiving as well as time to attend to other responsibilities. We welcome visits to both of our locations in Pittsburgh and Greensburg for families wanting to explore the benefits of our care in light of their loved one's needs. Our costs are affordable, with subsidies available for qualified individuals through Allegheny/Westmoreland County Area Agency on Aging. Please phone us to arrange a visit and see for yourself whether our program can meet your needs.
We are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, and are members of the Pennsylvania Adult Day Services Association and the Adult Day Services Network.

What others are saying
Our family has been blessed not worrying about Gloria’s care. Without Seton Center, I could not continue to work and keep Mum at home. Such a blessing! Gloria’s story is not unique. Every day I see firsthand the loving kindness, great care, friendship and love by these wonderful caregivers dedicated to enriching the lives of every senior at 'school.' I see this work as a vocation for them. And I see seniors having fun, no longer sitting at home in isolation as Gloria once did.

Top-notch, Loving Care
Seton Center saved Gail and me! My wife, five years into mild/moderate Alzheimer’s, went off the cliff in 2014. Hallucinations and agitation plagued her. 24-7 care-giving became overwhelming. A friend advised adult day-care. Seton Center was inviting with Gail’s Sister friends in the 2nd floor community.
At first Gail went "to volunteer." Then as her decline worsened, the caring staff ensured safety, kept her walking to reduce the agitation, redirected her when hallucinated demons attacked, and engaged her in communal conversation and activities. I got a break plus much good coaching to improve our time at home. I couldn’t have asked more of Seton Center and its fine staff!
What the Center did for Gail (and does for countless low-wage families) is at the heart of St. Elizabeth Seton's mission: embodying Christ’s love through excellent, spirited service.

We thank all of you for the good care you’ve given over these last two years. You’ve made it possible for me to have days of freedom to take of my appointments, shopping, housework and just “recharging my batteries.” But even more important, the environment you provide has kept Michael at a higher level of function through interaction with many people and exposure to a wide variety of activities. We’ve been able to have him at home longer thanks to you! God bless you all in your fine work.

Thank you to you and your amazing staff. Because of you, my Gram wants to get up and get moving every morning. Because of you she is safe and busy with others every day. Thank you for making her happy.
